The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, are searching for a highly motivated individual to join our Grounds Crew as a Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper. This position will run February through September. The Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper will report directly to the Head Groundskeeper.

A member of the International League, the Jumbo Shrimp play their home games at Vystar Ballpark located in Jacksonville, FL.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the brand-new playing surface at Vystar Ballpark including but not limited to turf areas, infield dirt, mound and home plate areas, bullpens, and warning track
• All cultural practices such as aerifying, verti-cutting, top dressing, edging, and fertility program
• Assist with field tarp and weather-related situations
• Other on-field events
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Preferred experience working in Baseball
• Strong time-management skills
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to professionally interact with coaches, players and team personnel
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 50lbs and pull/push 75 lbs
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and nights based on schedule
• Available to work a minimum for 40hrs/week
