We are looking to fill an Assistant Field Manager position with the Augusta GreenJackets (MiLB). This position is responsible for managing and supporting all aspects of professional baseball field maintenance operations at SRP Park.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Applies knowledge of athletic field maintenance best practices, and   capable of performing associated duties.
  • Builds people capability through effective employee and client relations, training and communication.
  • Ensures pesticide and fertilizer compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based irrigation monitoring systems
  • Tracks, schedules and accomplishes turf applications and maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrates ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends and holidays (as needed).
  • Support MLB special events such as the London Series, the Little League Classic, and the World Baseball Classic.

Qualifications:

  • Customer and managerial aptitude.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the work (extensive walking, bending, lifting/carrying 35 – 80 pounds often, outdoor weather conditions, and the dexterity to operate equipment including mowers, blowers and related machinery.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Degree/coursework or certification in a landscape related field are strongly preferred.
