The Surprise Stadium is host to the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers year-round, as well as Ottawa University and a variety of Tournaments.
This position supports these organizations by performing journey-level activities related to equipment operations, baseball field maintenance, plant maintenance, turf cultivation and maintenance, irrigation, fertilization, and horticulture. Incumbents operate and train others in the use of equipment and machinery and perform quality control activities. Incumbents lead crews of both part-time and full-time employees to ensure sports complex specifications are met. Incumbents perform as lead workers providing daily work assignments and review of completed work, act as resources to other workers, coordinate and collaborate with other internal and external partners (such as coaches or other city departments). Depending on assignment, incumbents may be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends to support events and tournaments.
