Parks Operations Supervisor

  • Full Time
  • Tracy, CA
  • $ 96,750.16 - $117,599.30 annually

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Becoming the next Parks Operations Supervisor for the City of Tracy is more than just a career move—it’s a chance to lead, inspire, and create lasting outdoor spaces for the community. With a passion for landscaping, leadership, and providing clean, safe environments for families, this role offers two potential exciting pathways: overseeing the city’s General Fund parks or managing its sports fields. Both opportunities demand a blend of technical expertise and soft skills, ensuring that each space is not just maintained but thrives under thoughtful stewardship.

In the General Fund parks role, you’ll focus on beautification efforts, irrigation projects, and overall park enhancements, shaping serene green spaces where residents can unwind, play, and connect with nature. As the leader of this team, mentorship and supervision will be central—guiding staff, managing work assignments, and ensuring projects align with community expectations. On the sports field side, your leadership will extend to maintaining top-tier athletic facilities, ensuring fields are in prime condition for games, tournaments, and local sports leagues. Precision in landscaping, turf management, and infrastructure improvements will be key to delivering high-quality experiences for athletes and spectators alike.

Beyond the hands-on work, this position calls for essential soft skills, including strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service. Engaging with the public and responding to concerns requires approachability and attentiveness, while managing vendor relationships and contracts demands keen organizational abilities. Additionally, being tech-savvy is increasingly crucial—whether it’s tracking maintenance schedules, managing reports, or leveraging modern systems for efficiency. As Parks Operations Supervisor, you’ll take the lead in shaping outdoor spaces that bring joy, activity, and relaxation to the community, ensuring every park or sports facility reflects the City of Tracy’s commitment to excellence.

This recruitment will be used to fill the existing vacancy and future vacant positions in the department.
