Position Overview:
The Landscape Manager provides horticulture, turf, landscape, ponds/creeks, and external facility support. The individual will lead a small team focusing on cleaning, detailing, and enhancing the various landscapes throughout the property.
Eagle Point Golf Club would expect the landscape manager to be a valued technical expert, have high expectations of the team’s work, and be recognized and supported by the club leadership team.
This is a collaborative position working with the Golf Course Superintendent, as well as the Assistant Superintendents and managers.
Initial Priorities of the Position:
- Learn the team, culture, operation, and areas of responsibility throughout the property.
- Establish standard operating procedures, weekly workflow, and future programs including applications, plantings, and projects.
- Develops rapport with existing team, and takes the time to get to know the employees’ strengths and opportunities.
- Develop relationships with outside contractors and local nurseries as it pertains to plant selection, installation, and maintenance.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Aptitude, and Other Traits:
- Coordinate and contact different internal clients and entertain their requests for landscape modifications, tree pruning, pest control, and seasonal events.
- Manage the performance of contractors who provide landscape maintenance services and plant material supply.
- Performs Integrated Pest Management practices including proper plant and pest ID, scouting, applications, soil treatments, fertility, water management, record keeping, proper trimming, and pruning techniques.
- Technically proficient and familiar with pesticides, aquatic management, and application methods.
- Collaborative and forward communication skills with other departments and direct reports.
- Develops and manages budget, inventory, material orders, tools, and other needs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other word-processing programs.
- Flexible and adaptable with management team to properly plan for club events to achieve operational goals.
- Prepares emergency recovery work, and observes all infrastructure for safety and performance.
- Coordinates work activities, seasonal planting, and projects, and constantly looks for ways to improve the cleanliness
- Proficient usage of irrigation systems including design, repair, and service of residential and commercial systems.
- Proficient operation of vehicles, equipment, tools, and landscape equipment including skid steers.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certificate, 2- or 4-year degree in Horticulture/Turf Management or similar field
- 4-6 years of progressive on-the-job experience and responsibilities maintaining landscapes at a high level.
- Must have a broad spectrum of landscape technical knowledge on using the appropriate plants/equipment at different locations.
- Able to demonstrate the use of proper tools and machinery for Horticulture maintenance operations.
- Good at designing and planning different bedding plants for different seasons and special events management skill
- North Carolina Pesticide license or ability to attain one within 90-days
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $75,000 – $85,000, DOE
