The Fredericksburg Nationals, Single-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals are searching for a highly-motivated individual to fill the role as Assistant Groundskeeper for the 2025 MILB Season. Employment runs from February 2025 through September 2025. The Assistant Groundskeeper will report directly to the Head Groundskeeper.

As a member of the Carolina League, The Fredericksburg Nationals play their home games at Virginia Credit Union Stadium located in Fredericksburg, VA.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the playing surface. Including but not limited to: Turf grooming, Infield skin maintenance and moisture management, bullpen clay repair, mound and home plate clay repair.
• Execute the setup/breakdown of batting practice.
• Perform pregame field preparation
• Assist with field tarp and weather-related situations
• Assist in Supervision, scheduling, mentoring and training seasonal part-time game day staff.
• Assist in non-gameday events
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience and/or recent graduate from a turf management program or related field
• Excellent organization skills, strong work ethic, desire to excel, and willingness to learn
• Preferred experience working in baseball
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Available to work days, nights, weekends.
