About Fluor Field

The Greenville Drive is the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, playing at award-winning Fluor Field in downtown Greenville’s West End. The newly maintained natural playing surface supports 60+ home games each season in addition to college baseball, community events, and special programming. Our turf team is dedicated to providing a safe, high-quality, major-league-level playing surface.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for students interested in a career in sports turf management, offering hands-on experience in a professional baseball environment. Past interns have advanced into positions with MiLB, MLB organizations, golf courses, and sports complexes nationwide.

Responsibilities

Interns will assist with all aspects of field and facility maintenance, including:

• Daily game prep: mowing, edging, watering, raking, dragging infield, warning track management
• Pitcher’s mound, bullpens, and home plate clay repair and maintenance
• Batting practice setup and breakdown
• Post-game cleanup and field repair
• Sodding, seeding, aeration, and landscaping projects
• Fertilizer and pesticide application under supervision
• Assist with tarp deployment during weather events
• Support setup for non-baseball special events

Training is provided on turf equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, edging equipment, trimmers, and more.

Qualifications

• No turf experience required — willingness to learn is essential
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all conditions
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and teamwork
• Must be 18+ years old
