Mission:
To provide a comprehensive summer internship experience that encompasses multiple sports and sectors of the Sports Field Management Industry. Experience to include NCAA Sports Field Management, Professional Baseball and Soccer Field Management, Parks and Recreation Field management, and Field construction and Maintenance. This opportunity will provide a well-rounded experience for aspiring Field Managers to better understand and prepare for the work force upon graduation.

Location:
Cary/Durham, NC – Duke – Town of Cary (USA Baseball/Wake Med Soccer Park) – Eastern Turf Maintenance

Duration:
12-week program- Split Evenly into three 4-Week blocks with a rotation between all three entities. 4 Weeks with Duke University, 4 Weeks with the Town of Cary at multiple facilities, 4 Weeks with Eastern Turf Maintenance.

Education Opportunity:
By spreading the experience over multiple facilities, the future Field Manager will gain exposure and learning opportunities in the following:

• NCAA Sports Field Layout & Painting (Football, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse)
• Professional Baseball Field Management & Preparation
• Professional Soccer Field Management & Preparation
• Multi-Field site Management & Preparation
• Agronomic & Cultural practices on Bermudagrass
• Synthetic Turf Maintenance
• Field Construction and Maintenance

Compensation:

• $15.00/Hr. – $5000 Cost of Living Stipend – Attendance to the NC/SC Regional Conference
• Access to Live Sporting Events – Team apparel – Networking opportunities
