Baseball Groundskeeping Internship
SEASONAL ASSISTANT/INTERNSHIP
JOB DUTIES:
- Cultural Practices including but not limited to: Mowing, Topdressing, Aerifying, Verticutting, Fertilizing, Irrigation, etc.
- Clay Work Including: Infield Skin, Mound, Homeplate, Bullpen, and Warning Track Maintenance
- Basic Equipment Maintenance
- Assist in preparation, maintenance and restoration of grounds as directed, including any and all activities or tasks fundamental to baseball field care.
- Prepare Field Before and After Game including: Field Marking and setup, dragging, raking, tarp removal
- Set-up and break down equipment for batting practice and games.
- Drag infield between innings as directed.
- Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, gators, and sod cutters.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, tamps, etc.
- Ensure use of proper equipment and adhere to safety standards and precautions.
- Maintain, clean and repair tools, equipment and structures.
- Gather and remove litter.
- Provide support in other stadium activities and special events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated from a two or four-year Turfgrass or Horticultural Program.
- Strong Communication and People Skills
- Self Motivated with Willingness and Eagerness to Learn
- High Attention to Detail
- Work Mornings, Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays (Overtime pay)
- Be able to Lift 60 LBS continuously
- Perform in adverse weather situations
- Prior Baseball Field Maintenance is preferred but not required
Dates: March 1, 2025 – October 30, 2025, Schedule Flexible Depending On School
Hours:
- Mornings, Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
- Ability to work 40+ Hours a week
- High Intensity In-Season Hours may be up to 80-100
PAY: $15.00-$19.00 hour DOE + Overtime Pay (1.5x rate each hour over 40 hours during work week [Monday-Sunday])
