Pittsburgh Steelers Sports Turf Internship

Internship Description: The Pittsburgh Steelers/PSSI Stadium LLC are looking for seasonal interns to assist in the maintenance and preparation of grounds at Acrisure Stadium, UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, and Saint Vincent College. Interns will be involved in all aspects of the playing surfaces for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Applicants will have the chance to be a part of one of the NFL’s most storied and prestigious franchises.

Internship Details: A minimum of 3 months is required for applicants. We are flexible on start and end dates for interns. Full season internships are available and last from May 2026 to December/January 2027.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mow, irrigate, sod, aerate, topdress, and fertilize Kentucky Bluegrass athletic fields
• Trimming and pruning landscape areas
• Laying out and painting fields for various events such as NFL, college football, high school football, soccer, etc.
• Groom and sweep artificial turf sidelines and fields
• Assist in setting up and removing growth tarps, rain tarps, and grow lights
• Assist in field repairs such as filling divots, removing debris, and plugging following games and/or practices

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and having the ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Ability to work long hours in any weather condition throughout the season
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and walk behind aerators
• Other duties may be assigned as needed
