LOCATION: Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.
JOB POSITION: Experienced Assistant Sports Turf Manager
- Will work directly under Sports Field Manager on daily operations taking care of the baseball stadium.
- Previous assistants have advanced to prominent positions.
SALARY: $50k – $55k with up to $5k in bonuses
DUTIES: Responsible for all matters relating to Turf Grass Management and crew supervision including but not limited to:
- Talk to coaches and FAU personnel
- In charge of scheduling personnel for games, etc.
- Perform daily maintenance
- Layout and painting of additional fields as needed
- Fertilizing, Aerifying, Top Dressing, Verticutting and Over Seeding
- Mowing, Edging and Re-Sodding
- Maintain infield skin areas, as well as mound and plate
- Equipment Maintenance
- Weed Control
- Work baseball, softball and football games
- Working hours 7:00am – 3:00pm with the exception of game days and special events
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must be a professional, self-starter who will work as a team player and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- The preferred candidate will have a two or four-year degree in turf grass related studies, or the equivalence in experience and education.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
- Able to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have a FL Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of hiring.
