SPORTS TURF INTERNSHIP
Job Description: Kennesaw State University is located approximately 25 miles northwest of Atlanta, Georgia. We are looking for a summer intern to help maintain KSU’s Sports and Entertainment Park including 4-time SFMA Field of the Year winner, 5/3 Bank Stadium. This position will work on various athletic fields both natural (419 and Latitude 36) and synthetic consisting of football, soccer, and lacrosse. Job duties consist of aerification, core harvesting, topdressing, mowing, fertilization, chemical application, painting, irrigation maintenance, synthetic turf maintenance, etc.
Requirements: Prior sports field management experience and a major in turfgrass management or related field is preferred, but not required. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and desire to learn. Attention to detail, proven ability to problem solve and a sense of urgency is a must. The candidate must be able to adapt to various weather conditions, work long hours and some weekends.
Compensation: $12/hour + OT + housing (if required)
Start/End Dates: Approximately May-September depending on school schedule. Dates are flexible.
