ABOUT THE FACILITY
Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is the spring training home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins in Jupiter, FL. The facility is comprised of 12 full size practice fields, 2 half fields, and Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Roger Dean is the host to approximately 30 spring training games, 140 minor league games, and several other events throughout the year. In addition to the Cardinals and Marlins two Florida State League teams, the complex also hosts Extended Spring Training, Gulf Coast League, Fall/Winter Instructional Leagues, and Jupiter-Tequesta Athletic Association (JTAA) games and practices as well as a variety of amateur tournaments throughout the year. Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium was honored with the STMA Professional Baseball Field of the Year award in 2005 and 2011.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in field prep which includes mowing, edging, clay work, dragging, lining, mound and plate maintenance, warning track maintenance, and assisting in tarp pulls
• Assist in fertilization, irrigation maintenance and pesticide program as appropriate
• Assist with aeration and vertical mowing throughout the season as needed
• Perform preventative maintenance of grounds equipment
• Participate in meetings regarding field use and game day logistics
• Assist with sod or sprig work
• Other tasks as designated by managers

QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year turf management degree program or related field
• Experience in turf preferred, but not required with preferred experience in baseball
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong time management skills, and the ability to work without supervision at times
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain
• Flexible work schedule including holidays, evenings, and weekends, as needed
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check

DATES: January 1st through September 1st (based on availability).  Flexible with class schedules.

COMPENSATION: $17.00 + per hour
