Career Center

This is a joint internship between the Toledo Mud Hens and Sylvania Recreation. Interns will rotate on a bi-weekly basis between the facilities giving them a chance to learn how to maintain a detailed professional stadium as well as a well-maintained recreational sports complex. Getting the opportunity to use a variety of turf equipment and experiencing the daily operations of each facility is a truly unique experience.

Requirements Include:

• Must be enrolled in a two-or four-year sports related program.
• Be able to lift 60 lbs. with ease.
• Able to work holidays, nights, weekends and long hours
• Ability to operate turf equipment
• Highly motivated with excellent communication skills

Learning opportunities include but not limited to:

• Mound and home plate clay maintenance
• Infield skin maintenance
• Field preparation for games and batting practice
• Fertilizing, spraying, aerating, topdressing and other turf practices
• Robotic field equipment operation
• Working events, games, and tournaments
• General facility maintenance
