Supervise sports turf assistants and part time employees at stadium, practice football, and Nutter field house.
Operate all Sports Turf equipment and provide instruction for less experienced personnel.
Help perform fungicide, pesticide, and foliar fertilizer spray operations for the Sports Turf Department.
Assist at the softball, game soccer, practice soccer, baseball stadium, tennis complex and track and field complex when needed.
Oversee employee tasks and scheduling of students.
Report on performance and progress of fields, staff, and issues to sports turf manager.
Keep a detailed log of inventory supplies and make sure assistants are filling out the correct paperwork for keeping inventory up to date.
Need to have knowledge in maintenance of artificial turf, cool season grass, warm season grass. Appropriate maintenance schedules and working around teams’ camps, practices, and games.
Prepare fields for practice and competition. Layout lines and perform painting duties. Communicate with coaches about the weather and playing conditions.
Serve alongside the Sports Turf Manager and assistant managers as game-day Sport Turf representative for assigned sports and coordinate logistics with respective game/event manager.
Provide leadership on selected facility projects.
Provide support for major special events.
Provide support for all University, camp, and outside competitions at all athletic facilities.
You would be working w/ the Sports Turf Manager to help plan and execute projects, at times you would be supervising other staff members that are assisting us achieve our goals.
Maintain working relationships with vendors and be part of national SFMA and local SFMA chapter.
Complete continuing education credits when available to keep CEU’s up to date.
