World Sports Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Turf & Grounds Supervisor to lead our turf operations in South Florida, with a primary focus on elite equestrian venues and sports turf management.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing turf projects from grow-in to full maintenance, including sports fields, equestrian facilities, and golf courses. A key responsibility will be ensuring world-class turf conditions for high-performance events, particularly in equestrian and athletic environments. Additionally, the Supervisor will play a vital role in expanding World Sports’ presence in the region—targeting new business opportunities across equestrian venues, sports complexes, golf courses, and other turf-focused properties.
This position requires strong leadership, hands-on experience in turf operations, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. The Sports Turf Supervisor will manage day-to-day field activities, supervising groundskeepers, subcontractors, and vendors while working closely with the company’s Senior Sports Turf Managers and facility partners to deliver exceptional turf care and visual excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Field and Turf Operations
- Oversee the grow-in and long-term maintenance of all turf projects under the company’s portfolio, including equestrian venues, sports fields, and golf courses across South Florida.
- Ensure optimal turf health, irrigation efficiency, nutrient balance, and field playability for high-performance use.
- Implement and manage a high-performance turf maintenance program tailored for elite equestrian and athletic surfaces.
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations with crew members, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards and on schedule.
- Operate, transport, and maintain turf and landscape equipment safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate and perform turf care practices such as mowing, fertilization, aeration, pest and disease control, topdressing, and irrigation scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, input usage, and equipment operation.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on ongoing operations to company management and to clients when required.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company protocols.
- Must have a personal vehicle and be available for travel across South Florida and to company headquarters in Tampa when needed.
- Client Relations & Business Development
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, facilitating clear communication between clients, internal teams, and partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facility managers, property owners, and stakeholders.
- Support the company’s growth by identifying and pursuing new service opportunities with sports complexes, equestrian centers, golf courses, and other turf-focused properties in South Florida.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead by example and foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Provide practical solutions to daily challenges and ensure operational efficiency at each project site.
Additional Services May Include:
- Seasonal turf color enhancements.
- Application of fertilizers and chemicals in line with agronomic plans.
- Minor landscape enhancements or installations as needed for turf contracts.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
- 3–5 years of experience in sports turf, golf course, or high-end landscape maintenance, including team leadership responsibilities.
- Proficiency in operating turf maintenance equipment such as tractors, mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Must own a personal vehicle and be able to travel throughout South Florida and to company headquarters in Tampa as required.
