The Kansas City Current women’s professional soccer club recently broke ground on its new stadium. The KC Current Stadium, scheduled to open in 2024, will be the first stadium in the world that is purpose-built for a women’s professional sports team.
The last time a Kansas Citian could support a downtown sports team was more than 40 years ago. Since then, Kansas City’s downtown has become a unique, livable and connected home for entertainment and is ready to welcome a future-forward venue in KC Current Stadium.
With a training complex and stadium built specifically for its players, the KC Current hope to attract the world’s top talent.
On Sept. 8, KC Current announced its partnership with Levy for providing a premium food and beverage experience at the stadium. Levy is a food and beverage provider for some cutting-edge American stadiums (Q2 Stadium for Austin FC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium for Atlanta United FC or TQL Stadium for FC Cincinnati).
The KC Current Stadium looks to redefine a premium entertainment experience for the city. Suites will be located just five rows off the pitch, and 80% of premium seating (suites and club) at the KC Current Stadium will be within 38 feet of the pitch. Two exclusive bars with incredible views of the pitch await Club members on the north and south concourses.
All of the 11,500 seats will be positioned within 100 feet of the pitch. The proximity to the playing field will feature a heightened atmosphere thanks to a canopy that reflects the noise inside the stadium.
In addition to KC Current matches, the stadium will host concerts, festivals and other sporting events (all with KC Current season ticket members getting priority ticket access).
The KC Current Stadium will be LEED certified, a globally recognized symbol of sustainability and energy conservation in building performance.
