MSU Turfgrass Research Field Day

The 2024 Mississippi State University (MSU) Turfgrass Research Field Day will be held September 19 in Starkville, Mississippi. The event will feature developments in turf breeding, cultural practices, weed control and industry updates. There will also be a vendor trade show.

Session topics and speakers are as follows:

  • Warm-Season Turfgrass Breeding presented by Marta Pudzianowska and Geoff Lalk
  • Turfgrass Weeds presented by Jay McCurdy and Amy Wilber
  • Turfgrass Best Management Practices  presented by Barry Stewart and Jason Eberhard
  • Insect Pests of Commercial Turfgrass presented by Blake Layton
  • Turfgrass Diseases presented by Alan Henn
  • Pesticide Safety and Regulations Update presented by Gene Merkle

Pesticide applicator/CEU training will be held in the newly renovated Headhouse building adjacent to the turf facility. Attendees wishing to complete CEUs for the following states/entities must remain present until adjourned (AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, TN, TX, GCSAA, applied for).
