If you have a child in college or enrolling, SAFE has $2500 available for up to two qualifying students. The student must be pursuing a field of study unrelated to the turfgrass industry at a recognized college or university. (SAFE has many scholarships available for turf related students. This new legacy scholarship honors Darian Daily’s strong commitment to the profession and his even stronger focus on his family. Darian passed away suddenly in August 2016.
The scholarship application is filled out by the SFMA member, so you don’t have to rely on your college student to complete. You will need to provide proof of acceptance or enrollment, and a recent transcript. The form is easy to fill out. The SFMA member must complete the answer to the question: “What legacy do you want to leave to your child and how has your career helped define that?”
