Pacific Sports Turf Irrigation is looking for a well-qualified irrigation enthusiast to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the right combination of education and/or practical experience with turf grass knowledge and horticulture principles.
Pacific Sports Turf Inc assists in repairs and specialty maintenance on sports fields, golf courses, and a variety of other premium landscapes. Our Irrigation System Managers are responsible for the programing of systems for conscientious application of water on the landscapes of sites. We also perform technical support for control systems including troubleshooting, repair, installations, and upgrades.
Candidates would be expected to obtain an Oregon State Drivers License and with our assistance obtain certifications from the Irrigation Association such as CLIA, CLID, or CIT.

Our team of turf professionals cultivate and maintain high performance natural turf fields using proven cultural practices. We master the science and art of irrigating, fertilizing, aerating, seeding, top-dressing, soil testing (for structure and fertility), and general maintenance of athletic surfaces. We do most anything critical to sports turf management on natural and synthetic surfaces – except mow.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2 year degree in turfgrass or horticulture or experience in irrigation management.
- Valid Driver License with a clean record
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
Position Summary: Optimize Irrigation Applications, Document Water-Use Efficiencies, and trouble shoot irrigation problems. Full Time.
Compensation:
- Starting $25.00-$ 28.00+ per hour (DOE)

REQUIREMENTS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following. Management retains the right to add or change the responsibilities of the position at any time.
- Manage your time efficiently without constant supervision.
- Maintain open communication with client.
- Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Irrigation Manager, peers and subordinates to ensure optimum flow of information.
- Skilled in all aspects of irrigation; Program controllers on site, trouble shooting, watering principles, head adjustment, valve replacement, pipe repair, low voltage wiring, digging, and field observation.
- Can use, program and schedule irrigation systems using a central control and internet-based computer system
- Transport equipment and tools to job sites as necessary.
- Assure proper use, care and inventory of company equipment, parts and tools assigned by performing pre-operation checks, routine maintenance and minor in-the-field repairs of equipment as necessary.
- Process necessary paperwork timely, neatly and accurately to ensure costing and appropriate billing.
- Show some initial aptitude for training crew members, evaluating performance on a consistent basis and reporting to field managers.
- Discuss project(s) progress/status with Sales, Management, and Irrigation Manager on regular basis.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Two years experience in larger scale irrigation repair and management or degree in the landscape/turf sector.
- Ability to read and understand plans.
- Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Valid O.D.L. With insurable driving record.
- Able to work various hours and various locations including out of town trips as necessary.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, and a background check to work on school sites.
