Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and facility prep at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex (two-time SFMA Field of the Year Winner) and American Legion Memorial Stadium.  The complexes are the home of two men’s professional soccer teams, women’s professional soccer, professional rugby, professional lacrosse, NCAA Division II Soccer National Championships, ACC Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Conference Championships, SAC Conference Championships, Big South Conference Championships and many other youth athletic events and tournaments. This internship provides the unique experience of working on both natural and synthetic turf fields.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with Sports Field preparation to ensure league compliance.
• Assist with cultural practices of natural turf fields.
• Assist with painting and preparation of fields.
• Carry out tasks and operational plan assigned by Manager.
• Operate general Sports Field Maintenance and landscape equipment and machinery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi-Sport field painting, field layout and measurement, and field preparation for events.
• Experience with natural turf cultural practices: calibration, and application of pesticides and fertilizers, etc.
• Experience using and maintaining various types of equipment used for fields and landscape maintenance.
• Flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screens and background check.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License
