The Western Canada Turfgrass Association (WCTA) and Sports Turf Canada (STC) announced that this year’s Fall Field Day will be on Thursday, Sept. 21, hosted by Nick Barbour at the District of North Vancouver.
“Planning is still in the very early stages but we couldn’t ask for a better host,” commented WCTA Executive Director, Jerry Rousseau, adding, “Nick is incredibly keen and has already come up with some great ideas for this event, many of which have never been attempted!”
As for the venue, Inter River Park located near Capilano University is an impressive facility with more than enough room for our needs including seven soccer fields, six ball diamonds, a cricket pitch, an artificial turf field under construction and other recreational amenities like a BMX track and pump track.
More information will be released in the coming weeks including an event outline. Plans so far include a morning education program, outdoor trade show with 25+ product and service suppliers expected along with inter-active supplier demonstration stations.
