Dr. Andrew McNitt is a Professor of Soil Science at Penn State University. On Wednesday, January 15, he will be presenting “Avoiding Pitfalls with Synthetic Turf Specifications and Project Management” with Dave Anderson, PE.
Installing a new synthetic turf field? This presentation will discuss important aspects of the technical specifications and the project management approach that will help avoid pitfalls that can occur with the procurement and construction of synthetic turf field projects.

Dr. Nick Christians is a University Professor at Iowa State University. On Tuesday, January 14, he will be presenting “So, What is the Deal with Calcium?”
The session will include some basics of soil science as it relates to calcium and its use on turfgrass. It will also include a discussion of recent research on the topic.
After attending, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the basics of soil science.
2. Relate the basics to the subject of calcium use on turfgrass.
3. Understand current research on the topic.
