The application process for the SFMA Field of the Year program opens on July 1. The on-line application process is straightforward and has been streamlined. Applicants can apply for recognition of their fields in baseball, football, soccer, softball and sporting grounds (non-mainstream sports) and in one of three categories: professional sports, parks, recreation and schools, and collegiate facilities.
In addition to facility profile information, applicants will be asked the question of why their filed should be considered a winner, challenges that have been experienced recently, monthly maintenance and fertility programs, four Playing Conditions Index scores, and up to 30 photographs showcasing your field through its seasons.
