National BMPs for Sports Fields – Update
SFMA is creating a manual to address Best Management Practices when managing sports fields. This manual will have a national version and also provide a template for chapters to use to validate their practices. This should be helpful to provide specific information to local and state governments when legislation is being proposed that will affect sports field maintenance.
Chapters will address the following topics:
SFMA’s BMP Task Group is working through the second draft of Pesticide Management and IPM and the first draft of Cultural Practices, Pollinator Protection, and Maintenance Operations. The project is slated for completion by the 2021 SFMA Annual Conference and Exhibition.
